Notes about powering on a machine from power-off or power-safing state via the network link. Read out currently Wake-On-Lan mode of an network device. Temporary Change the Wake-On-Lan mode of an network-device, which is usefully when the machine is already power-on and went to an power-safe state.

Check if network device is configured for Wake-On-Lan

  • The value of g is required for WOL to work.

Configure Wake-On-Lan Mode for network device

It’s recommended to set Wake-On-Lan Mode in the computer bios, if you want to wake the machine from power-off state. The following command does not persistent when the machine goes in power-off mode. It might be usefull when the machine goes to an power-safe mode like S3/S5 etc.
